Declare the item type, value, contents, pickup, delivery, and required service accurately before handover.
Use cotton, bubble wrap, a protective box, and final sealed packaging. Avoid loose items and mixed materials.
The reference packaging guide recommends using protective layers so jewellery does not move, rub, tangle, scratch, or get damaged inside the box.
Choose the right box size based on the jewellery size and weight. Keep bubble wrap, cotton, and the final container ready.
Cover the inside of the plastic box with bubble wrap before placing the jewellery inside.
Add a thick cotton layer so the jewellery rests on a soft cushion and does not hit the box directly.
Cover the jewellery with cotton and bubble wrap for extra protection before placing it inside the box.
Add a final cotton sheet on top, close the lid, wrap the box again, and place it inside the final tin box or aluminium container.

BVC packaging guidance specifically warns customers not to pack jewellery with gold bars, liquids, sharp objects, flammable items, electronics, or batteries. Gold bars and bullion must follow the correct declared service process instead of being mixed with jewellery.
Do not place water, drinks, oils, chemicals, perfumes, or any liquid container inside a jewellery shipment.
Do not pack lighters, sprays, fuels, solvents, or any item that can catch fire or leak during transit.
Do not pack scissors, knives, blades, tools, pins, or any sharp object that can damage the parcel or create risk.
Do not pack phones, batteries, chargers, power banks, or electronic accessories with jewellery parcels.
Do not mix gold bars with jewellery. Bullion, coins, and bars should be booked under the correct declared service route.
Do not pack different jewellery pieces together without individual cushioning. Separate pieces reduce scratches and tangling.
