For an international exhibition shipment you'll typically need a commercial or proforma invoice, a detailed packing list with declared values, KYC details, and the relevant customs instrument for temporary import — such as an ATA Carnet, TIB or IOR. For GJEPC-approved trade shows, additional trade-body documentation may apply. Most delays come from incomplete or mismatched documentation, undeclared or incorrectly valued items, missing temporary-import instruments (ATA Carnet / TIB / IOR), or last-minute changes to the shipment. Loose batteries, aerosols, flammable liquids and other dangerous goods cannot be packed with high-value jewellery consignments, and certain materials such as ivory or other restricted natural substances may be barred or require special permits at the destination. Anything outside the declared and insured manifest should never be added to the packaging.
